LugingOur holiday park is an ideal base, being so handy to the Agrodome, Rainbow Springs, Skyline City Rides and golf courses, with the added bonus of no sulphur fumes. A City bus service is available from our gate.

An area of intense volcanic activity, once in Rotorua, which has rightly earned it's alternative name of 'The Sulphur City', you can experience a myriad of impressive examples of bubbling mud pools, exploding geysers with evidence of geothermal activity everywhere you look.

If you prefer outdoor activities, Rotorua is also for you. Set amidst no fewer than 14 lakes and with spectacular forests on your doorstep the city is a Mecca for Walking, Mountain Biking, Trout Fishing, water sports, Farm Shows (including the renowned 'Agrodome'), Gondola and Luge Rides, 'Zorbing' and much more. All within an easy drive of the park.

The Trout Man

Getting Started No 1:
Basic flycasting tuition and fishing on tranquil stream. Two hours $25, two people $45.


Beginners Special:
Nine hours tuition and fishing spread over three days, plus flytying instructions $135, two people $160.

Getting Started No 2:
Four hours of flycasting tuition and fishing $55, two people $75.

Father/Son Special:
Two or three days tuition and fishing by arrandment, focusing on flyfishing techniques, learning where to go and what to do, plus flytying instruction.

Sunset/Sunrise Tuition Trip:
In popular demand. Two hours tuition and fishing till dusk and four hours at dawn $90, two people $115.

Mother/Daughter Discount Special:
One to three days of tuition, fishing, flytying instructions, sightseeing, relaxing and shopping. one day $110, two days $200, three days $250.

Visitors Special:
Popular with anglers passing through. Two hours fishing $35, two people $55.

Winter Special:
Try for a trophy trout at Rotoiti, Tarawera, Okataina, Rotoma or the Ohau Channel. Daytime four hours $65, two people $75. Night-time or dawn four hours $75, two poeple $85.

Backpackers Specials:
A day out around the local fishing spots $110, two people $135. A day out to the back country or the famous Tongariro River, two people $175.

Kayak:
Fishing kayak and tackle, two hours $30, half-day $45 ($150 bond required).

Where and How:
A time-saving two-hour familiarisation trip around local fishing spots for visiting anglers, learning where to go and what to use. Up to four people $45.
For the Table:
The Trout Man will clean, prepare and smoke your fish - eat it hot off the smoker, $10.
An introduction to Flyfishing:
Two or three-day tuition trips by arrangement. Learn to flycast with nymph, wet fly , dry fly and night fly, lake and river, plus flytying instruction. Two days $240, two people $265. Three days $300, two people $325.
The Trout Man trailers tuition trips for ages 9 to 90 and teaches many senior citizens. He also introduces women to flycasting and young children to spin-fishing. All tackle is provided. Extra time is $15 an hour. Costs do not include fishing licences. A range of accommodation from $16 to $95 a night can be arranged through the Trout Man.
